Reach Radio

Reach Radio was a series of five workshops for Derry-Londonderry's Community Relations Week 2015! 100+ children, from all faiths and backgrounds, participated and created an hour long podcast, while learning DJ mixing & performance, audio recording, mic use and podcast hosting. The participants also created jingles, idents, links, intros and outros, as well as learning crucial confidence building techniques. While showcasing good community relations on an international stage, Reach Radio highlighted the positive step Northern Ireland has taken towards acceptance of cultural diversity. Using the creative industries as a delivery medium, the project was another small step towards mitigating social and cultural exclusion, especially for children, in the politically charged context of Northern Ireland.
